49ers Players Celebrate with U.S. Soccer Team

Posted Jun 23, 2014

Football has come together with futbol as several San Francisco 49ers players have celebrated goals by the United States at the 2014 World Cup on Vine.

By now, you’ve probably seen the @49ers Vines, featuring some of the San Francisco 49ers celebrating each goal by the U.S. soccer team at the World Cup in Brazil.

Dan Skuta, Bubba Ventrone, Michael Wilhoite, Corey Lemonier and Bruce Miller each came up with their own creative renditions of the famous “GOAL” calls by television and radio announcers.

With four goals by the national team in two games, there have been plenty of occasions to celebrate thus far.

With one win and one draw, the Americans needs a draw against Germany to advance out of the “Group of Death.”

The advancing scenarios are quite complicated, but ESPN FC did a nice job of breaking down exactly what needs to happen on Thursday when the United States faces Germany and Portugal takes on Ghana. Both games start at 9 a.m. PT on ESPN and ESPN2 respectively.

Look for more celebration Vines whenever the Unites States puts one in the back of the net.
