Vernon Davis' 52-Yard TD Stirs Twitter

Posted Dec 16, 2013

Vernon Davis' unique play-making ability had social media buzzing once again.

Vernon Davis was at it again.

"Air Davis" took the NFL by storm with his hurdling act against the St. Louis Rams.

On Sunday, the 49ers tight end displayed his speed, hands and toughness a single play.

Davis out-ran Tampa Bay safety Mark Barron and caught a 52-yard touchdown that was rifled down the field by Colin Kaepernick. Not only was it a great throw, one of the best you'll see all year according to ESPN NFL analyst Trent Dilfer, but it was an amazing catch.

Davis gracefully snagged the deep ball thrown with velocity and wasn't done impressing. The 49ers tight end had so much momentum going into the end zone that he crashed into a padded wall at Raymond James Stadium. Davis was knocked down for a slight moment but bounced back to compete in the second half.

Niners 365 compiled some of the best tweets on Davis' catch as well as the top comments on San Francisco's 33-14 victory on the road.
