With Aubrayo on Board, How to Say 49ers Names

Posted Feb 9, 2015

The 49ers player-turned-defensive assistant goes by one true pronunciation. He's not the only San Francisco coach (or player) with a surname that needs clarification.

With the San Francisco 49ers addition of defensive assistant Aubrayo Franklin – it’s pronounced (uh-BRY-uh) – we thought the time would be right to review the correct pronunciations of coaches' and players’ names.

The NFL player-turned-coach, who was officially hired on Monday, isn't the only one with a name needing clarification.

For every straightforward Frank Gore, there’s an unknown like Corey Lemonier.

To avoid future confusion, here are the team’s tongue twisters:

Defensive assistant Ejiro Evero (eeh-JEE-row EV-uh-row)
