The six-time Pro Bowl linebacker wore a blue non-contact jersey while he joined linebackers for individual drills. Willis, who reportedly fractured his hand on July 31, did not catch any passes with his fellow linebackers during the open portion of practice. His right hand was covered by a protective brace, but he still participated in bag drills.
After individual work, Willis worked with the team’s trainers on an adjacent practice field.
Earlier in the day, Vic Fangio was of the belief Willis will return to the 49ers in time for a Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
