Posted Dec 17, 2017

Follow along here for news, notes and highlights as the 49ers look to beat the Titans in Week 15.

The San Francisco 49ers have a shot at their first winning streak since 2014. A win in Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans would give the 49ers their third-straight victory and fourth in the last five games.

As always, follow along here for news, notes and highlights from Sunday's matchup at Levi's® Stadium.

The 49ers put Trent Brown on Injured Reserve on Saturday which means that Zane Beadles will likely be the team's starter at right tackle for the remainder of the season. San Francisco will also be without Greg Mabin, who was competing to start at corner before injuring his calf in practice. That means Dontae Johnson and Ahkello Witherspoon will start at corner.

Here is San Francisco's full list of inactives: Max McCaffrey, Mabin, Antone Exum Jr., Pita Taumoepenu, Leger Douzable, D.J. Jones and Ronald Blair III.

And for the Titans: Brandon Weeden, Kalan Reed, Curtis Riley, Josh Carraway, Corey Levin, Harry Douglas and Derrick Morgan.

FIRST QUARTER ("--" denotes a new possession)

San Francisco received the opening kickoff as the Titans chose to defer to the second half. Carlos Hyde took his first carry for a 2-yard gain. Jimmy Garoppolo followed with a 9-yard pass to Kyle Juszczyk. The 49ers had to burn an early timeout because it appeared that the communication system in Garoppolo's wasn't working.

Marquise Goodwin took an end around for a gain of 10-yards. Hyde found a crease for an 8-yard run and followed with an 8-yard reception. Garoppolo evaded pressure, rolled to his left and somehow found Trent Taylor for a 12-yard gain and another 49ers first down. That play was followed by a sack and a loss of eight yards.

A 17-yard pass to Celek nearly converted on 3rd-and-18. Instead of going for it on 4th-and-inches, Kyle Shanahan opted to kick the field goal.

Robbie Gould drilled the 38-yarder to put the 49ers up 3-0. (8:51)

San Francisco forced a three-and-out on Tennessee's first possession. DeForest Buckner and Tank Carradine split a sack against Marcus Mariota on first down. A short pass to DeMarco Murray on third down was nowhere near the line to gain and brought on the Titans punt unit.

Back-to-back passes to Goodwin went for 16 and 11 yards, respectively and moved the 49ers to Tennessee's 35-yard line. Aldrick Robinson left the game with a head/wrist injury. He landed hard after being the intended receiver on a sideline pass and went straight to the locker room.

The drive stalled there as Garoppolo's third-down pass was batted down at the line of scrimmage.

Gould made a 48-yard field goal to put the 49ers up 6-0. (4:35)

The combination of Murray and Derrick Henry moved the ball towards midfield for the Titans. Mariota followed with a 21-yard pass to Rishard Matthews to San Francisco's 22-yard line.

Delanie Walker dropped a sure touchdown on the first play of the second quarter. Reuben Foster then stopped Murray in his tracks for no gain on a second-down run. Unfortunately, Foster left the game following the emphatic run stop. Tennessee had to settle for a field goal.

Ryan Succop made the 40-yard attempt to make it 6-3, 49ers. (14:06)

Garoppolo found Goodwin for an 18-yard gain. A defensive holding penalty on third down kept San Francisco's drive alive. Garoppolo followed with an 11-yard pass to Kendrick Bourne. Goodwin saved Garoppolo from an interception, who threw up a jump ball while being hit. Goodwin took it away from the Titans defender for a 10-yard reception. After Hyde lost two yards, Bourne checked in with a 14-yard catch-and-run. The rookie wideout evaded a defender and gained a few extra yards after the catch.

Garoppolo found Kittle for a 7-yard gain on 3rd-and-4 to move the 49ers into the red zone. An incompletion and a short screen pass to Taylor set up 3rd-and-6 from the Titans 14-yard line. Garoppolo then found Juszczyk for another first down.

On 3rd-and-goal from the Titans 5-yard line, Garoppolo found Celek for a 5-yard touchdown to put the 49ers up 13-3. (5:30)

"Celek Time" now has a career-high four touchdown receptions in 2017.

Murray gained 11 yards on two carries. Brock Coyle forced a fumble against Delanie Walker on the next play, and San Francisco recovered. A review confirmed the turnover as the 49ers took over at the Titans 46-yard line.

On 3rd-and-4, Garoppolo found Taylor for a 17-yard gain up the right sideline. Taylor made one man miss and got a nice little run after the catch. On an ensuing 3rd-and-11, Garoppolo hit Goodwin for another first down. Garoppolo nearly had Bourne in the end zone on two-straight throws but both fell incomplete.

Gould drilled his third field goal of the first half, a 28-yarder, to put the 49ers up 16-3. (1:37)

Gould has now tied his career high with 33 field goals made in 2017. He's also made 12 over his past 2.5 games.

Passes of 25 and 27 yards to Matthews helped the Titans move down the field immediately. A 15-yard personal foul for roughing the passer hurt the 49ers as well.

Mariota found Walker for a 4-yard touchdown to make it 16-10, 49ers, before the half. (0:29)

The 49ers opted to go into the locker room with the score as is. San Francisco posted 219 total yards and 20:07 time of possession in the first half.

Tennessee's offense continued to hum. Mariota found Eric Decker for 11-yards on 3rd-and-10. Murray then picked up 11 on his next carry. Buckner's third-down sack was wiped out due to a penalty against Johnson. Mariota took advantage of the extra set of downs and found Decker for 17 yards.

Succop's 31-yard field goal was good and cut the 49ers lead to 16-13. (8:29)

Eric Reid was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct after the play.

Garoppolo found Goodwin for a quick 6-yard gain. Hyde followed with a 7-yard run. Taylor dropped an ensuing third down pass that halted the 49ers drive. Bradley Pinion came out for his first punt of the day to send it back to Tennessee.

Henry got things going with a 10-yard run. Walker followed with a 13-yard reception. On Tennessee's next third down, Mariota found a wide-open Matthews to move the chains once again at San Francisco's 24-yard line. A 12-yard pass to Decker set up 1st-and-goal at the 49ers 7-yard line.

San Francisco stuffed Henry on first down and dropped the running back for a loss on second down. Solomon Thomas and Reid combined for the tackle for loss.

Mariota found a wide open Matthews for an 8-yard touchdown to give the Titans their first lead of the game, 20-16. (13:31)

Tennessee lost sight of Celek and the tight end got loose for a 41-yard catch-and-run. Hyde followed with a 6-yard reception. Garoppolo came through with a 14-yard dart to Goodwin on the next third down. Tennessee sacked Mariota three plays later to bring on Gould for a 50-yard field goal try.

Gould drilled it, pulling the 49ers within one, 20-19. (8:27)

Some notes, Gould has now made 17-straight field goals. He has also set a new career high with 34 makes in 2017. As for Goodwin, his nine catches this afternoon have set a new single-game career high.

San Francisco got a much needed stop as Tennessee's drive was derailed by a holding penalty.

The 49ers began at their own 13-yard line, trailing by one, with 6:28 remaining.

Garoppolo hit Bourne in stride over the middle for a 54-yard catch-and-run. Kittle checked in with an 18-yard reception on the next play. An illegal block in the back cost San Francisco 10 yards. On 3rd-and-18 from the Titans 21-yard line, an offensive pass interference penalty negated a 49ers touchdown. Taylor took a screen pass to the house but it was brought back.

Gould drilled a 48-yard field goal to give the 49ers a 22-20 lead. (3:08)

Gould now has five field goals made in the game and 14 field goals made over his last three games.

Mariota found Davis for a 13-yard gain. His next two passes fell incomplete, bringing up 3rd-and-10. Mariota found Decker for a 9-yard gain. Foster was shaken up briefly before walking off the field under his own power. On 4th-and-1, Mariota converted on a QB sneak.

On the next 3rd-and-2, San Francisco stopped Murray for no gain.

Succop made a 50-yard field goal to put the Titans back on top, 23-22. (1:07)

A 7-yard pass to Taylor was followed by a 24-yard pass to Kittle. Garoppolo then found Goodwin for a 14-yard gain.

Gould came on and made a 45-yard field goal as time expired to give the 49ers the 25-23 win. (0:00)
