Vernon Davis to Play vs. St. Louis Rams

Posted Sep 26, 2013

Vernon Davis is active for Thursday night's game against the St. Louis Rams.

ST. LOUIS – Vernon Davis told reporters he’s not 100 percent, but he’s healthy enough to play Thursday night against the St. Louis Rams.

Davis revealed to a couple of reporters he was going to be active for “Thursday Night Football.” Davis was held out of last week’s 27-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts with a hamstring injury.

The 49ers tight end will be in his red uniform tonight. With the Rams wearing all white uniforms, San Francisco will be in home red uniforms.

Patrick Willis and Nnamdi Asomugha were among the notable inactives for the 49ers. Both players were held out of practice all week with groin and knee injuries, respectively. Willis will miss his fifth career start. Michael Wilhoite will start in place of Willis. Rookie cornerback Darryl Morris, who was called up from the practice squad, will be active and serve as an extra defensive back for the 49ers.

Wide receiver Jon Baldwin and running back LaMichael James will also both make their season debuts.

49ers inactives:

QB B.J. Daniels
WR Chris Harper
WR Marlon Moore
CB Nnamdi Asomugha
FB Owen Marecic
LB Patrick Willis
G Joe Looney

Rams inactives:
