Morning Tailgate: The Best of NaVorro Bowman

Posted Dec 13, 2013

Is NaVorro Bowman playing the best football of his career?

Is NaVorro Bowman playing the best football of his career?

That’s a question I posed to defensive coordinator Vic Fangio on Thursday.

“He might be,” Fangio replied. “But, he’s played really well in the three years we’ve been here. He should be playing better now. He’s still in the prime of his career, still in the state of his career where he should be improving and playing better. And I think he is.”

After Sunday’s 19-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks, the two-time All-Pro inside linebacker enjoyed his latest dominant performance. When it was time to shake hands after the victory, Seattle’s quarterback even shared his own praise for the 49ers linebacker.

“I love playing against you,” Russell Wilson told Bowman at the end of 49ers Studios' latest "Mic'd Up" segment.

“We’ll see you again,” Bowman replied.

The 49ers inside linebacker is fourth in the NFL with 120 tackles and needs 29 tackles in the final three games of the regular season to set a career high.

Bowman has already post single-season bests with 4 sacks and three forced fumbles.

More 49ers headlines can be found in today’s Morning Tailgate, presented by State Farm.
