The 49ers are in the process of regrouping after a stunning 10-9 home loss to the Carolina Panthers.
“We’ll come storming back,” Jim Harbaugh said after San Francisco’s five-game winning streak was snapped.
The Panthers played stout defense and scored 10 unanswered points to shock the 49ers at Candlestick Park. As much as the loss was shocking to those in attendance – fans in the crowd stood still long after the final whistle – the team has no choice but to “refit and reorganize” as Harbaugh said in his postgame remarks.

It’s easy to turn the page when you have to travel to New Orleans to face an impressive Saints team. At 7-2, Drew Brees and company are coming off a 49-17 throttling of the Dallas Cowboys at home.
The Saints are a perfect 5-0 at home in 2013.
Home cooking has been huge for New Orleans. The team has improved greatly from San Francisco’s 31-21 road win last season.
Brees remains as one of the NFL’s top passers, but he’s also received help from his defense, a unit that ranks No. 3 in pass defense, allowing 199.9 yards per game.
San Francisco’s preparation will be key this week heading into a NFC showdown with postseason seeding implications.
