San Francisco’s head coach discussed his meeting with Smith during an appearance on 95.7 The Game’s “Bucher and Towny” radio show.
“Aldon was in the building,” Harbaugh said via Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com. “It was great to see the reaction of others who saw him and Aldon’s reaction of being back here with some of the guys. He looks great, and we’re having a great day.”
“I think the prudent thing to do is look at it day-to-day and have a goal of having a great day,” Harbaugh said. “He’s been taking that approach, really over the last five weeks. And it’s served him well and he’s quite a bit of progress.”
Smith recorded 4.5 sacks in the first three games of the season and remains as the team’s sack leader. He has not played during San Francisco’s current five-game win streak. Smith was arrested on Sept. 20, played in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts and then took a voluntary leave of absence from the team on Sept. 23.
