Two of the 49ers top play-makers are seeing positive results in their injury rehab work.
Manningham, however, will begin the season on the team’s Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List, Jim Harbaugh shared on Sunday. Crabtree is also likely to be placed on the team’s reserve PUP list, which would allow him to return to action between Week 7 to Week 13.
“It’s exciting and he’s excited about it.”
With a PUP list designation to open the 2013 campaign, Manningham will not be eligible to play in the team’s first six games of the regular season.
Manningham caught 42 passes for 449 yards and one touchdown in his first season with the 49ers.
In regards to Crabtree, San Francisco’s first 1,000-yard receiver since 2003, Harbaugh sounded pleased with the star receiver’s rehab from an offseason Achilles injury.
“He’s hit every single goal as far as his timeline,” Harbaugh said. “That’s been real exciting and encouraging.”
