Jonathan Goodwin Signs with New Orleans Saints

Posted Jun 3, 2014

Veteran offensive lineman Jonathan Goodwin has rejoined his former team, the New Orleans Saints.

Jonathan Goodwin has returned to the New Orleans Saints, the club announced on Tuesday.

Goodwin, 35, started every game at center for the 49ers over the past three seasons. Goodwin was a starter for the Saints from 2008 to 2010 where he made three Pro Bowls and won Super Bowl XLIV.

San Francisco elected to go with a youth movement at center this offseason. The team extended the contract of fourth-year lineman Daniel Kilgore and drafted USC center Marcus Martin in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Goodwin said farewell to 49ers fans from his Twitter and Instagram account.
