This marks the second consecutive season that the 49ers and Packers have met in Week 1. Last season, San Francisco defeated Green Bay in two contests, 30-22 on the road in Week 1, and 45-31 at home in the NFC Divisional round of the playoffs. The 49ers overall record against the Packers is 28-34-1, including 17-11-1 at home.

The overall series is tied at 14 games apiece, but under head coach Jim Harbaugh, the 49ers are 3-1 versus Seattle. The teams split the 2012 series, with each team winning on their home field.

Both contests last season went into overtime, with the Rams winning, 16-13, in St. Louis, and the teams tying, 24-24, in San Francisco.
  • Sun., Oct. 06, 2013 5:30PM - 8:30PM PDT 49ers vs. Texans San Francisco faces the Houston Texans on Sunday night October 6, in front of a national audience on NBC. It marks the third prime time appearance through the first five weeks of the regular season for the 49ers. This will be only Houston’s second trip ever to Candlestick Park in the regular season, and their first since the 49ers won 20-17 in overtime, in 2005.

San Francisco owns a 26-17 overall record against the Cardinals, including a 15-8 mark at home. In the 2012 regular season finale, San Francisco won 27-13, clinching the NFC West Division title for the 19th time in franchise history. The Niners have compiled a 7-1 record versus Arizona over the past eight games.

Gold Rush Auditions Set for April 6

Auditions to be part of one of the NFL’s elite cheer squads will be held at Stanford’s Maples Pavilion.



The San Francisco 49ers are hosting open auditions for the opportunity to join the 49ers 2013 Gold Rush Squad. The Gold Rush is one of the NFL’s premiere performance groups and will be selecting 32 girls for the team.

The four-phase process will begin with preliminary auditions, on Saturday, April 6 at Maples Pavilion at Stanford University. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Phase one of prelims will take place from 11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by phase two of prelims from 3:15 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Applicants will be required to learn a short dance combination taught by a professional choreographer and perform that routine in a group in front of a panel of judges. Applicants will be judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship and individual applications. At the end of the preliminary auditions, a group of finalists will be selected.

Finalists selected on April 6th must be available for a finals prep class, interview and finals dance audition on Thursday, April 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Final auditions will be the only phase open to the public. Tickets will be available for $20 each on http://49ers.eventbrite.com and $25 at the door.

Over the past 30 years, the 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders have established a reputation as one of the NFL’s premiere performance groups. The squad has been featured on many national television shows, performed for numerous USO tours around the world, and appeared in five Super Bowls. As a 2013 team member you can participate in these special events, cheer at each 49ers home game, work with their Junior Cheerleader program, participate in the annual swimsuit calendar photo shoot and more.
