Frank Gore up for FedEx Ground Award

Posted Oct 1, 2013

San Francisco's all-time rushing king can take home hardware for his Week 4 performance if 49ers fans cast their votes.

Frank Gore is one of three nominees for the Week 4 FedEx Ground Player of the Week award.

The 49ers running back carried the ball 20 times for 153 yards and a touchdown in San Francisco's 35-11 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Thursday night. Gore contributed runs of 17 yards, 27 yards, 17 yards and 34 yards -- in the first half alone.

The franchise's all-time rushing king tied his fifth-best single-game outing of his nine-year carer.

In addition to Gore, ball carriers Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings) and Reggie Bush (Detroit Lions), who rushed for 140 and 139 yards respectively, round out the FedEx Air nominees. Peterson scored two touchdowns to Bush's one.

All three runing backs can make cases for taking home the Week 4 honor, but the fans have the final say in who wins.
