Q: Did practicing under the lights on Tuesday night bring you back to your high school days?
A: It feels like Friday night lights. Feels like high school. I feel like our team loves this game so much. When you think about high school to where we’re at now, just the opportunity to be able to play on this level and on this stage is awesome. We’re ready for Thursday.
Q: What challenges does four-time Pro Bowler Terrell Suggs bring you?
A: He’s good, I think it’ll be a good matchup. I love the competition. That’s what I love so much about the NFL, each week it’s a good test. He’s good at what he does and it will be a good challenge to see if I can adjust to him.
Q: What do you love the most about Thanksgiving?
A: Well I don’t take days off, I don’t get sick, I don’t recognize national holidays. I’m like a jackhammer. But really, I love being with the family at the house just watching football and hanging out on Thanksgiving. I remember watching football as a six-year old and seeing Ray Lewis and now we get to play against him, it’s pretty crazy. But I’ll try to celebrate the holiday a little when we get back.
Q: What is it like to block for Frank Gore, who is just 61 yards away from being the all-time leading rusher in franchise history?
A: It’s surreal. I’ve always been a fan of running backs since I was younger just playing around in the backyard. I would always pretend to be guys, like, ‘Oh, I’m Frank Gore,’ when I was a kid. Now that I’m blocking for him and he’s about to be the all-time leading rusher and I have a chance to contribute to that, I just feel blessed. It’s an honor to be a part of that.
Q: How would you describe your emotions heading into this big game?
A: I love the game. Once I’m out there nothing else matters. However you were feeling before the game doesn’t matter when it’s time to play ball. I’m just going to let my emotions flow. I’m going to be excited to be on the same field as guys like Ray Lewis. I’ll be ready for this one; we all will be.
