Andy Lee Earns NFC's Special Teams Honor

The long-tenured punter became the first 49ers player to be named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week a third time.

Punter Andy Lee has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week.

Lee, the 49ers longest-tenured player in his 10th NFL season, becomes San Francisco's first to be earn the honor a third time; he previously received it for his Week 7 efforts during the 2012 season, and his Week 15 performances in 2011.

In the 49ers 31-17 victory over the host Titans on Sunday, Lee pinned Tennessee's offense inside their own 20-yard line on three of his six kicks, including a 58-yard boot. The specialist ranks second this season in punts (39), first in average yards per punt (48.3) and fourth in net yards per punt (42.4).

Quarterback Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcons) and linebacker Sean Lee (Dallas Cowboys) received the conference's offensive and defensive distinctions.
