Jim Harbaugh said
The third-year 49ers linebacker was arrested early Friday morning, but later returned to the team’s training facility to practice in the afternoon.
“I expect Aldon to be back to work, playing on Sunday,” San Francisco’s head coach said.
Harbaugh said he felt “disappointed” by the incident involving Smith, but added that the best thing for the young linebacker was to get back to work and “soldier through it.”
The 49ers will not take immediate action with Smith. The club will rely on the NFL’s disciplinary process.
“They have exclusive rights to the consequences,” Harbaugh said.
Harbaugh said Smith “seemed like he had his wits about him” while participating in Friday’s practice in a limited basis.
Smith was on the 49ers injury report with a back injury all week. He’s officially listed as probably to play against the Colts.
“I don’t think it’ll be a distraction,” Rogers said. “This team is strong. We’re still salty about last week’s loss.”
