Brock (5-10, 197) was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2010, and went on to earn a spot on the team’s opening day roster. In 2011, Brock set a career high with two interceptions in 11 games. He continued to contribute in 2012, logging time in all 16 regular season games, and tying the team lead with 15 tackles on special teams.
Brock, a 24-year old native of Gulfport, MS, initially spent two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College before transferring to the University of Minnesota for one season. He finished his collegiate career at Belhaven University in Jackson, MS.
Hastings (6-0, 185) originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent on July 27, 2011. After spending most of that regular season on the team’s practice squad, Hastings was promoted to the active roster on December 31 and made his NFL debut the following day at St. Louis. He was later released during training camp on August 27, 2012.
Hastings, a 25-year old native of Wichita, KS, starred collegiately at Washburn University, where he was a Second-Team All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association selection at wide receiver as a senior. Hastings led the MIAA in receiving yards as a senior with 1,546 while recording 87 receptions, both were Washburn single-season records.
