Nearly a year ago, I was given the opportunity to be the gatekeeper of all things that move and make sound for the San Francisco 49ers. I was given a chance that truly is “one in none.”
Tasked with creating new and compelling programming that would take the Faithful behind the walls and offer insight and access like never before was a daunting mission. How could we accomplish this as a group? What content would the 49ers Faithful truly want to consume day in and day out?
In 2013, we created 49ers Studios. Comprising talented writers, producers, videographers and designers, our journey had just begun. Since the beginning of training camp last season, you certainly have noticed quite a change. “The Faithful” will debut this fall and will feature two-time Super Bowl champion Dwight Hicks as its narrator. San Francisco’s former two-time All-Pro defensive back will be your guide on special journeys into the lives of the greatest 49ers stories that need to be told.

The crew and I have travelled over 100,000 miles in the past ten months – from New York City to El Paso, from Miami to Portland, Oregon, we have been listening to stories and falling in love with the people telling them.
All of these stories are great representations of what is happening off of the field for the 49ers, and that is exactly what “The Faithful” will reflect. This unique documentary-style show will also parallel the access and content that you are now accustomed to seeing from 49ers Studios.
Keep an eye out for the episodes that will air this year and in the future. Who knows – you may have your own Faithful story that needs telling. If so, drop us a line at FNS@49ers.com. You could get a call from me and a knock on your door from our camera crew.
