49ers Sign Draft Pick Bruce Ellington for Four Years

Ellington was the first of two fourth-round selections (106th overall) by the 49ers in this year’s NFL Draft out of the University of South Carolina.



The San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Bruce Ellington to a four-year deal.

Ellington was the first of two fourth-round selections (106th overall) by the 49ers in this year’s NFL Draft out of the University of South Carolina. In 39 games (26 starts) with the Gamecocks, he finished with 106 receptions for 1,586 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also had 43 kickoff returns for 977 yards (22.7 average) and was three-time Academic All-SEC selection. In 2013, Ellington played in 13 games (11 starts) and led the team with 49 receptions for 775 yards and eight touchdowns, earning First-Team All-SEC and Academic All-SEC honors.

A 22-year old native of Moncks Corner, S.C., Ellington attended Berkeley High School. In addition to football, he played in 80 games (66 starts) for the South Carolina men’s basketball team, averaging 11.2 points and three assists per game.
