The San Francisco 49ers released an unofficial depth chart for Sunday’s Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The San Francisco 49ers released an unofficial depth chart for Sunday’s Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The top wide receiver slots are held by Anquan Boldin and Kyle Williams. Both players remained atop the wide recievers on the roster throughout the preseason and will open the regular season there, too.  Behind the starters, Marlon Moore and Jon Baldwin are slotted after Boldin. At the other receiver position, rookies Quinton Patton and Chris Harper are placed after Williams.

Boldin caught two passes for 14 yards in his first preseason with the 49ers after being traded in the offseason form the Baltimore Ravens. Williams, on the other hand, did not see action in any of San Francisco’s four preseason contests. Williams' absence was likely a precaution as he was coming off a season-ending injury. The fourth-year wideout participated in the bulk of training camp practices.

It’s also worth mentioning Williams is the No. 2 punt and kick returner on the depth chart behind LaMichael James. The second-year running back injured his knee in the 49ers preseason finale win over the San Diego Chargers. His status for Sunday is not known, but Williams does have extensive NFL experience at both return spots.

Elsewhere on the depth chart, Colt McCoy remains as the No. 2 quarterback. Rookie B.J. Daniels is the No. 3 signal-caller.

Defensively, Ian Williams is ahead of Glenn Dorsey at the starting nose tackle position. Williams started every preseason game and saw increased playing time in the final preseason win over San Diego.

Tramaine Brock and Nnamdi Asomugha are both lined up evenly as backup cornerbacks to Carlos Rogers and Tarell Brown. Perhaps defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will shed light on who has won the No. 3 job later this week.

Rookie free safety Eric Reid is officially with the first-team defense. Corey Lemonier is placed as the second-team outside linebacker behind Aldon Smith. Finally, rookie inside linebacker Nick Moody is on the third-line of the depth chart behind All-Pro Patrick Willis and emerging backup Michael Wilhoite.
