The San Francisco 49ers announced on Saturday they have promoted CB Asa Jackson to the active roster from the team's practice squad. In order to make room on the roster, the team has waived CB Keith Reaser.

Jackson (5-10, 183) originally signed with the team on August 8, 2017. He was released on September 2 and signed to the team's practice squad the following day. Originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round (169th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft, Jackson has appeared in 22 games (eight starts) and registered 34 tackles and four passes defensed throughout his five-year NFL career with the Ravens (2012-15) and Detroit Lions (2016).

Jackson will wear number 30.

Reaser (6-0, 190) was the second of the 49ers two fifth-round selections (170th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft. From 2014-17, he appeared in 29 games and registered 37 tackles, five passes defensed, two forced fumbles and four tackles on special teams.
