Already a member of the 49ers Hall of Fame, Charlie Krueger enters another early next year.
Krueger, who played for San Francisco for the entirety of his NFL career, from 1959 to ’73, was announced as one of eight honorees comprising the 2014 class of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
The Caldwell, Texas native will be inducted on Feb. 27 alongside former NBA player Larry Johnson and former MLB catcher Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez in addition to former NFL running back Thurman Thomas, among others.
Krueger, the ninth overall pick of the 1958 Draft, played defensive end and tackle for the 49ers.
He recorded one interception, seven fumble recoveries and a touchdown during his career.
Sacks were not recorded by the league until after he retired, in 1982.
