BIOGRAPHY

Education: I graduated with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Biomedical  Engineering. Currently, I am studying for my doctorate (PhD) in Bioengineering with a minor through the MBA program in Management of Technology.

Career Goal: I am torn between two goals. The first is to start a medical imaging company centered on cancer diagnostics. The second is to lead a lab in academia, which would focus on the two of the great challenges in cancer treatment, early diagnosis and early assessment of response to therapy.

Biggest thrill: My biggest thrill this past year would be the closing moments of the 49ers versus Saints game during the second to last playoff game. Alex Smith threw a game-winning touchdown pass to Vernon Davis with 9 seconds left on the clock sending us to a home NFC championship game. I had every emotion, fear, excitement, sadness, and joy, all within that last 60 seconds. I had goose bumps as the crowd was going wild. The fans were like a red sea, and I was one the field, right there in the middle of all of it. That was pretty amazing.

Fun fact: Even though I am blonde, I am Hispanic. My grandpa moved here from Mexico before my uncles were born. I have several second cousins in Zacatecas, Mexico.

Something worth fighting for: Your dreams, what you believe in, family, true love, and happiness.

Favorite Song or anthem of your life: “Love Like Crazy” by Lee Brice because it reminds me of what is important in life.
