Join the world famous San Francisco 49ers Cheerleaders and have the opportunity of a lifetime. Over the past twenty five years, the 49ers Cheerleaders have established a reputation as one of the NFL’s premiere performance groups. The team has been featured on many national television shows, performed for numerous USO tours around the world, and appeared in four Super Bowls. As a 2011 team member you can participate in these special events, plus cheer at each 49ers home game, work with our Junior Cheerleader program, participate in the annual swimsuit calendar photo shoot and more.

Time Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. and auditions will start promptly at 11:00
Location Maples Pavilion, Stanford University
Applicants will be required to learn a short dance combination taught by a professional choreographer and perform that routine in a group in front of a panel of judges. They will be judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship and individual applications. At the end of the preliminary audition, a group of finalists will be selected.
Finalists selected on March 27 must be available for a finals prep class, interview and final dance audition during the week of March 30th – April 3rd.
All applications and application fees must be received, along with a 5x7 photo, by March 23, 2011.
Audition Info During the preliminary audition process, applicants will be judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship, and individual applications. For finalists, there is an interview process and a final dance audition. The Gold Rush Director will host audition workshops throughout March so that you can learn more about this prestigious program and have the opportunity to prepare for the audition process. What to expect You will be asked to dance and perform in front of a panel of judges. Some of the dance will be taught to you by a professional choreographer and you may also be asked to freestyle. At the end of the preliminary audition, a group of finalists will be selected to continue to finals. Finalists are selected based on their dance ability, showmanship, and crowd appeal. It is a long day, so please come prepare with snacks, water, and/or lunch for the day.
Attire A two-piece leotard (half top and briefs or boy cut shorts) with flesh colored hosiery is required. Jazz, dance shoes or athletic shoes (minimal tread and non-marking soles) are also mandatory. We strongly recommend that you wear your hair down although it does not need to be a certain length or style. You may also want to wear make up for the audition.
Workshops Brush up on your audition skills and learn what it takes to be a 49ers Cheerleader. If you have never been through auditions or want a refresher on what to expect during the process, this workshop is for you.
Each three-hour session will include a dance clinic, audition tips and information packet. You will meet the Gold Rush Staff and industry professionals who will provide insight to the audition process.
