Listed below are the specific prediction rules for “49ers Game Plan” within professional football games on 49ers.com. General predicting rules are listed separately. 49ers.com retains the right to change and modify these predicting rules at any time, without direct notification to the users. 49ers.com may choose to offer additional prediction opportunities to users at their sole discretion. Available Predicting Interests
1. "What will the drive result be?" - Users are able to predict on the result of the current drive. Options: <Touchdown, Field Goal Good, Field Goal Miss, Safety, Turnover, Punt, Fail on 4th down> When it is available: When the down on the next play is 1st. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens at the conclusion of the previous play if it resulted in a 1st down for either team, closes once the ball is snapped and resolves at the conclusion of the drive.
2. "Run, Pass or Sack?" - Users are able to predict the play call of the next play of the game, or whether the quarterback will be sacked. Options: Run, Pass, Sack When it is available: On any non-special teams play (i.e. it is not available when the next play is a punt, field goal attempt, kick-off or point after touchdown attempt). How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens at the conclusion of the previous play, closes once the ball is snapped and resolves at the conclusion of the play.
3. "QB - most total passing yards" - Users are able to predict which starting quarterback will throw for the most passing yards in the full game. Options: <Starting QB "A" , Starting QB "B"> When it is available: 30 Minutes before the scheduled game time. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens 30 minutes before the scheduled game time, closes 5 minutes before the scheduled game time and resolves at the conclusion of the game. 4. "QB - most 2nd half passing yards" - Users are able to predict which quarterback will throw for the most passing yards in the 2nd half. Options: <QB "A" , QB "B"> When it is available: At the conclusion of the 2nd quarter and the beginning of halftime. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens at the conclusion of the 2nd quarter, closes when the kick-off to start the 3rd quarter occurs, and resolves at the conclusion of the game. 5. "QB - Most Total TD passes" - Users are able to predict which starting quarterback will throw the most touchdown passes over the course of the entire game. Options: <Starting QB "A" , Starting QB "B"> When it is available: 30 Minutes before the scheduled game time. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens 30 minutes before the scheduled game time, closes 5 minutes before the scheduled game time and resolves at the conclusion of the game.
6. "RB - most total rushing yards" - Users are able to predict which running back will rush for the most yards in the full game. Options: <RB "A" , RB "B"> When it is available: 30 Minutes before the scheduled game time. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens 30 minutes before the scheduled game time, closes 5 minutes before the scheduled game time and resolves at the conclusion of the game. 7. "RB - most 2nd half rushing yards" - Users are able to predict which running back will rush for the most yards in the 2nd half. Options: <RB "A" , RB "B"> When it is available: At the conclusion of the 2nd quarter and the beginning of halftime. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens at the conclusion of the 2nd quarter, closes when the kick-off to start the 3rd quarter occurs, and resolves at the conclusion of the game. 8. "WR - most total receiving yards" - Users are able to predict which wide receiver will get the most receiving yards in the full game. Options: <WR "A" , WR "B"> When it is available: 30 Minutes before the scheduled game time. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens 30 minutes before the scheduled game time, closes 5 minutes before the scheduled game time and resolves at the conclusion of the game.
10. "WR - most 2nd half receiving yards" - Users are able to predict which wide receiver will get the most receiving yards in the 2nd half. Options: <WR "A" , WR "B"> When it is available: At the conclusion of the 2nd quarter and the beginning of halftime. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens at the conclusion of the 2nd quarter, closes when the kick-off to start the 3rd quarter occurs, and resolves at the conclusion of the game. 11. "Kicker - most successful field goals" - Users are able to predict which kicker will kicker will kick the most successful field goals over the course of the full game. Options: <Kicker "A" , Kicker "B"> When it is available: 30 Minutes before the scheduled game time. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens 30 minutes before the scheduled game time, closes 5 minutes before the scheduled game time and resolves at the conclusion of the game. 12. "What will the kick-off result be?" - Users are able to predict what the result of the upcoming kick-off will be. Options: <Returned - No TD, Returned - TD, Touchback, Out of Bounds> When it is available: At the beginning of the game, the beginning of the 2nd half, and immediately following a point after touchdown attempt, successful field goal, or safety. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity opens at the beginning of the game (just before the opening kickoff), the beginning of the 2nd half (just before the kickoff), and immediately following a point after touchdown attempt, successful field goal or safety, closes when the kick-off occurs and resolves at the conclusion of the kick-off play. 13. "Play under review, will the call on the field...?" - Users are able to predict whether the current challenge will be successful or not. Options: <Stand as Called, Be Overturned> When it is available: This prediction opportunity only opens if a head coach challenges the ruling on the field. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity is opened once the challenge flag is thrown and the referee announces what coach is challenging. This prediction opportunity is closed once the referee leaves the booth and is resolved once the referee announces the outcome of the coach's challenge. 14. "Which player will score the next TD?" - Users are able to predict which player will score the next touchdown. Options: <Team A Player A, Team A Player B, Team A Player C, Team A Other Player, Team B Player A, Team B Player B, Team B Player C, Team B Other Player> When it is available: 5 minutes before game time or after a touchdown has been scored. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity is opened 5 minutes before game time and after a touchdown has been scored and a point after touchdown has been attempted. This prediction opportunity is closed once the kick-off at the start the game or following a touchdown occurs, and resolves after the next touchdown occurs, or the game ends. 15. "Which team will score the next TD?" - Users are able to predict which team will score the next touchdown. Options: <Team A, Team B> When it is available: 5 minutes before game time or after a touchdown has been scored. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity is opened 5 minutes before game time and after a touchdown has been scored and a point after touchdown has been attempted. This prediction opportunity is closed once the kick-off at the start the game or following a touchdown occurs, and resolves after the next touchdown occurs or the game ends. 16. "What will the field goal result be?" - Users are able to predict what the result of the upcoming field goal will be. Options: <Good, No Good> When it is available: When the next play will be a field goal attempt. How long it is open for predicting: This prediction opportunity is opened once the next play is determined to be a likely field goal attempt, closed once the ball is snapped for the field goal attempt and resolved at the once the result of the field goal is known. The specific terms and interpretations of each of these predicting opportunities are listed below. These details do not restrict the ability of 49ERS.COM to cancel a prediction opportunity or alter the opportunity grading, at any time, at their sole discretion. Note that if a game fails to start on the date scheduled, all pre-game prediction opportunities may be cancelled. In all cases unless otherwise specified, grading of the prediction opportunity will be based upon the official play grading by the governing body of the professional football game. The official ruling as it stands at the completion of the game will be considered final for the purposes of this competition. If the game fails to complete for weather reasons or other unforeseen difficulties, any outstanding prediction opportunities will be either finalized and graded as-is, or cancelled, dependant on the nature of the prediction opportunity.
"What will be the drive result?"
- Classification of the drive result will be based on the official designation of the last play completed in the drive.
- A drive is considered to be complete once either team scores, a field goal attempt is made, a turnover is committed, a punt is performed, a safety occurs, or a turnover-on-downs occurs.
- If the team punts the ball but regains possession as the result of a fumble by the receiving team, the drive is resolved as "Punt", and a new drive will begin.
- If a penalty is called before the prediction opportunity while this prediction opportunity is open, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
- If time expires in any of the 2 halves without one of the drive completion options listed above occurring and the ball has not been turned over on downs, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
- In situations where a team intentionally submits to a safety for strategic reasons, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
"Run, Pass or Sack?
- Any play that is not a forward pass attempt, punt, field goal attempt or quarterback sack will be considered a run. This includes negative yard rushes, safeties, and fumbles which are not preceded by a pass completion. A lateral or backwards pass will not be considered a pass. A lateral/backwards pass which is not followed by a forward pass, will be considered a run. A lateral/backwards pass which is followed by a forward pass, will be considered a pass.
- Any play in which the quarterback is intending to pass the ball and is tackled behind the line of scrimmage will be considered a sack. If the quarterback is tackled behind the line of scrimmage but had the intent to run the ball, the play will be considered a run for negative yards.
- In situations in which the quarterback spikes the ball or kneels this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
- In situations where a penalty is assessed (in most cases), and not declined, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
- In situations where a team intentionally submits to a safety for strategic reasons, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
- If time expires while this prediction opportunity is open, resulting in the end of the quarter, half or game, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
- Play call grading may be reversed if a referee ruling alters the official statistical designation
- This prediction opportunity will be cancelled if a penalty is called on the play (in most cases), the quarterback kneels down, the quarterback spikes the ball, a safety is intentionally taken, the 1st quarter or 3rd quarter ends, the 1st half ends or the game ends.
"QB with the most total passing yards?"
- The starting QB who passes for the most yards throughout the course of the entire game, including overtime, is declared the winner of this prediction opportunity.
- Rushing, receiving and special teams yards accumulated by the starting QBs are not included in the passing yardage total.
- If the two starting quarterbacks pass for the same amount of yards in the full game, resulting in a tie, this prediction will be cancelled.
- If one of the quarterbacks who is expected to start does not start the game, this prediction will be cancelled.
- If one of the starting quarterbacks is replaced during the game, any yards accumulated by their replacement quarterback will not affect this prediction opportunity.
"QB with the most 2nd half passing yards?"
- The two prediction options are the two quarterbacks expected to start for their respective teams in the 2nd half.
- The starting QB who passes for the most yards in the 2nd half, including overtime, is declared the winner of this prediction opportunity.
- Rushing, receiving and special teams yards accumulated by the starting QBs are not included.
- If the two starting quarterbacks pass for the same amount of yards in the 2nd half, resulting in a tie, this prediction will be cancelled.
- If one of the quarterbacks who is expected to start does not start the 2nd half, this prediction will be cancelled.
- If one of the starting quarterbacks is replaced during the half, any yards accumulated by their replacement quarterback will not affect this prediction opportunity.
"QB with the most total passing TDs?"
- The two prediction options are the starting quarterbacks on each team.
- The starting QB who throws the most touchdowns throughout the course of the entire game, including overtime, is declared the winner of this prediction opportunity.
- Rushing, receiving and special teams touchdowns accumulated by the starting QBs are not included.
- If the two starting quarterbacks throw the same amount of touchdowns in the full game, resulting in a tie, this prediction will be cancelled.
- If one of the quarterbacks who is expected to start does not start the game, this prediction will be cancelled.
"RB with the most total rushing yards?"
- The two prediction options are the running backs who are most likely to rush for the most yards in the entire game on each team. Note: These two options will not necessarily be the starting running backs.

- Passing, receiving and special teams yards accumulated by the included running backs are not included.
- If the two included RBs rush for the same amount of yards in the full game, resulting in a tie, this prediction will be cancelled.

- The two prediction options are the wide receivers who are most likely to accumulate the most receiving yards in the 2nd half on each team. Note: These two options will not necessarily be the team's designated number 1 receivers.
- The included RB who rushes for the most yards in the 2nd half, including overtime, is declared the winner of this prediction opportunity.
- Passing, rushing and special teams yards accumulated by the included wide receivers are not included.
- If the two included WRs accumulate the same amount of receiving yards in the 2nd half, resulting in a tie, this prediction will be cancelled.
- If one of the included WRs is officially declared out for the 2nd half, this prediction will be cancelled.
"Kicker with the most successful FG kicks?"
- The two prediction options are the starting kickers on each team.
- The kicker who kicks the most successful field goals throughout the course of the entire game, including overtime, is declared the winner of this prediction opportunity.
- Unsuccessful field goals and points after touchdown are not included.
- If the two kickers kick the same amount of field goals in the full game, resulting in a tie, this prediction will be cancelled.
- If one of the kickers who is expected to start does not start the game, this prediction will be cancelled.
"What will the kick-off result be?"
- Any returned kick that does not result in a touchdown will be declared as Returned - No TD.
- Recovered onside kicks, returned kicks where the receiving team fumbles the ball and either team recovers, fair catches made by the receiving team and kicks recovered by the kicking team are all declared as Returned - No TD.
- Any returned kick that results in a touchdown for either team will be declared as Returned - TD.
- Any kick-off that is not returned as a result of the kick-off going through the back of the endzone will be declared a touchback.
- Any kick-off that is not returned as a result of the kick returner kneeling down in the endzone will be declared a touchback.
- Any kick-off that is not returned as a result of the ball getting kicked out of bounds anywhere other than the back of the endzone, including onside kicks, will be declared Out of Bounds.
- If a penalty is called, resulting in the kick-off being re-done, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled. If a penalty is called on the kick return that has a significant effect on the play, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
"For this challenge, will the ruling…"
- If the coach's challenge results in the referee overturning of the call on the field, this prediction opportunity will be declared as “Ruling is overturned”.
- If the coach's challenge results in the referee's ruling on the field standing, this prediction opportunity will be declared as “Play stands”.
- If the referee goes to the booth, but later declares the coach's challenge as invalid (e.g. the referee determines that the play cannot be challenged), this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
- The points available for a correct selection of an outcome for this prediction opportunity may change throughout the course of the prediction opportunity being offered as additional information becomes available.
"Which player will score the next TD?"
- The prediction options included in this prediction opportunity are based on the three most likely players on each team to score a touchdown whether it be a rushing, receiving, special teams, or defensive touchdown. These players can be play at any position. An “Other” option is also available for each team.
- This prediction is resolved once a player on the field scores a touchdown of any kind. If the player who scores the next touchdown is not one of the 6 player options, this prediction opportunity will be declared as Other Team A or Other Team B depending on the player's team.
- If the game ends before another player scores a touchdown, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
"Which team will score the next TD?"
- This prediction is resolved once a player on the field scores a touchdown of any kind.
- If the game ends before either team scores another touchdown, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
"What will the field goal result be?"
- If the field goal attempt is successful, this prediction opportunity will be declared Good.
- If the field goal is kicked but misses the uprights, this prediction opportunity will be declared No Good.
- If the field goal is kicked but is blocked partially or fully by the defense, resulting in a missed field goal, this prediction opportunity will be declared No Good.
- If the field goal is faked and a run or pass attempt is made this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
- If a penalty is called on the field goal attempt, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
- If there is a bad snap on the field goal attempt, and a kick is never attempted, this prediction opportunity will be cancelled.
