What is the 49ers Game Plan?
It's a two-screen, interactive game that takes viewer engagement to a whole new level by giving fans the ability to make predictions and answer questions about professional football in real-time, from their computers. It enhances the viewing experience by giving fans the ability to win points, play with friends, compete for prizes and earn a position on the leader board while watching football.
The game screen doesn’t seem to be updating and hasn’t asked me any new questions in a while.
You likely have lost your connection to the game server. This can happen if your Internet connection gets lost for even just a split second. You will know this is the problem if the scoreboard and game state don’t update to reflect the on-field activity. The fix for this is to hit F5 on your keyboard (you don’t need to log out if this happens). This will refresh your screen and bring you up to date with the game.
I can't access the 49ers Game Plan game. What do I do now?
First, make sure that the web site address is correct.
Second, make sure that there are no pop-up blockers enabled.
Third, make sure your internet browser and operating system meet the following requirements:
- IE 6.0, 7.0 on the Windows platform
- Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2.0 on the Windows platform
- All of the above browsers with Flash 8.0 or Flash 9.0 add-on
Where can I find the 49ers Game Plan rules?

Can I cancel or change my prediction selection?
No, all predictions placed are final, and you may only submit one answer per question. However, there is no loss of points or penalty for an incorrect answer.
Where can I see my answers to past predictions?
All predictions you make in the game will be listed in the History section.
Why was my answer graded as 'cancelled'?
A prediction may be cancelled if the result of a prediction was not one of the possible outcomes. Click here for additional rules and details on when this occurs.
Why was my answer 'rejected'?
An answer may have a rejected status if it was not received in time.
What is the Game State?
The Game State is a visual depiction of what is happening in the current game. It has two tabs that allow you to switch between Status and Results view.
The Status tab of the game state provides a visual depiction of what is currently happening in the game and is updated continuously throughout the game. Important aspects of the game are animated here (e.g., if there is a touchdown, field goal etc).
The Results tab of the game state indicates the actual result of a given prediction opportunity. The correct outcome will be highlighted and you can use this to compare your actual prediction history. The results tab lists the most recent 20 predictions or trivia questions that have been resolved. Cancelled predictions will not be listed here.
Where can I go to see how many points I have earned in 49ers Game Plan?
This information is not available unless your score is among one of the Top 10 balances that is a contender for the season-long prize. You can then refer to the leader boards to see your rank against other players.
Why is my balance always 0 at the start of a game?
Balances are reset after every episode giving you a fresh start and a new chance for every episode to compete to win that evening's prize.
How are the point values for predictions determined?
The points associated with each outcome of a given prediction opportunity are relative to the likelihood of the outcome occurring.
Where can I find the correct response to a question?
Click on the Results tab and the correct response will be highlighted.
Where do I go to view the competition leader boards? How often are they updated?
You can view season-long and weekly competition leader boards. Both leader boards are updated approximately 24 hours after the last game.
How do I win the season-long competition/weekly competition?

I got a Flash error. How do I fix it?
You may experience difficulties if you are using one of the listed browser-flash configurations
- IE 6 and Flash 9.0.28.0
- IE 7 and Flash 9.0.28.0
- Firefox 2 and Flash 9.0.28.0 (see below)
To resolve this issue, Adobe's recommends that you upgrade to the latest version of Flash. If that does not work, contact technical support. Problems with version 9.0.28.0 have been reported on Adobe's forums.
