The San Francisco 49ers return to the NFC Championship Game for the 13th time in franchise history, and the first time since 1997, as they host the New York Giants.

The 49ers and the Giants have met seven times in the postseason, with the 49ers holding a 4-3 edge. This marks just the second meeting between the two clubs in the conference championship game. The Giants won the first meeting, 15-13 on 1/20/91.

The last time San Francisco faced New York in the postseason, the 49ers overcame a 24-point, third quarter deficit to win 39-38 in the Wild Card round in 2002.

San Francisco looks to advance to the Super Bowl for the sixth time in the franchise history and for the first time since 1994.
