  • Charlie Wedemeyer Memorial Coach of the Week

    The Charlie Wedemeyer Coach of the Week program is designed to promote youth football and give outstanding high school coaches the recognition they deserve. During the high school season, 10 coaches are recognized for their efforts. The award aims to highlight someone that stands out for their team’s performance on the field, while also serving as an example to his players, staff, competitors and local community. At the end of the season, one coach is recognized as Coach of the Year.

  • High School Player of the Week

    Each week of the high school football season, the 49ers select a Bay Area high school football player who represents positive sportsmanship and leadership on and off the field as the 49ers Player of the Week.

  • 49ers Host Youth Football Coaching Clinic

    The San Francisco 49ers hosted the first ever FREE coaching clinic for Bay Area Youth and High School football coaches. The two-day clinic gives local coaches the opportunity to learn from 49ers Coaches and Football Operations staff, unprecedented sideline access to OTAs, and offers breakout sessions allowing an open, collaborative forum for specific coaching strategies, philosophies, drills and techniques.

  • Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Game

    The best graduating seniors from South Bay high school football programs go head to head in the annual Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Football Game hosted at Levi’s Stadium.

  • Friday Night Lights

    This annual event features a high school triple header at Levi’s Stadium. Six local high school football programs take the field at Levi’s for three crucial showdowns, showcasing some of the biggest games in the Bay Area.

  • High School Media Day

    The San Francisco 49ers were the first NFL team to partner with USA Football and MaxPreps to hold a High School Media Day at Levi’s Stadium. Coaches and players from thirty-three different schools participated in this unprecedented event. The teams were prepped with a brief media training session before they conducted press conferences in the team auditorium and fielded questions from over a dozen media members from the Bay Area. Players and coaches then went through USA Football’s Heads Up Football program, proper helmet fitting with Riddell representatives, and an official MaxPreps photo shoot.

  • 49ers Mentorship Academy

    The 49ers Mentorship Academy in partnership with USA Football, provides high-school football players with the opportunity to develop the skills needed to succeed and be leaders on and off the field. In order to successfully complete the Academy, high school football captains must complete the three layers of the program, all of which focus on leadership development and the importance of being and having positive role models in their life.
