The Bay Area All-Star Scholarship Team Program was founded in 1996 and is a partnership established by the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, San Jose Sharks and the newly added San Jose Earthquakes.
Each participating sports team has contributed to the scholarship program in a collective effort to assist Bay Area high school students achieve goals of higher education. This unique committee is the first of its kind in the realm of professional sports.

Golden State Warriors: Alameda County (except Oakland and Fremont)
Oakland A’s: Contra Costa and Solano
Oakland Raiders: Fremont, Napa, Marin and Oakland
San Francisco 49ers: San Mateo and Santa Cruz
San Francisco Giants: San Francisco and Sonoma County
San Jose Sharks: San Jose
San Jose Earthquakes: Milpitas, Gilroy, Morgan Hill & Santa Clara
The Bay Area All-Star Scholarships will be awarded to seven outstanding and well-rounded students residing within the Bay Area’s nine counties. All public high schools within these counties are encouraged to nominate two male and two female students for this prestigious college award. Each award recipient will receive a scholarship in the amount of and will be recognized at team ceremonies.
A teacher, coach or school administrator must nominate all scholarship candidates. To nominate a student(s), the school official must upload a letter of recommendation describing the unique qualities, achievements and circumstances that make the student(s) an exceptional scholarship nominee.

Student applicants must meet the following criteria for nomination:
- Be a college-bound senior senior currently attending a Bay Area public high school
- Be a legal resident
- Display leadership qualities in and out of the classroom
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 from sophomore to senior year of high school
- Demonstrate the value of education, good work ethic and community outreach
- Demonstrate a commitment to extracurricular activities
- All Applications must be submitted by Friday, March 2nd 2012.
